New Delhi: Amid the threat of a possible third wave of COVID-19, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has developed an immunity-boosting âBal Raksha Kitâ for children up to the age of 16.
The AIIA reports to the Ayush Ministry.
The kit, ministry officials said, will help boost children’s immunity to help them fight SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection and keep them healthy.
The kit includes a syrup consisting of basil, giloy, cinnamon, licorice and raisins, which have amazing medicinal qualities, apart from Annu oil, Sitopaladi and Chyawanprash which regular consumption increases the children’s immunity level, officials said.
This kit, officials said, was made under strict guidelines from the Ayush Ministry. It was manufactured by Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited (IMPCL), an Indian government company, at its plant in Uttarakhand.
The AIIA will distribute 10,000 free kits on National Ayurveda Day on November 2.
As there is no Covid vaccine for children in India yet, the Bal Suraksha kit is an important development with children’s health in mind, they said.
AIIA Director Dr Tanuja Nesari noted that children often have difficulty taking decoctions and pills.
?? As the decoctions (kadha) are bitter and children have difficulty taking them, a decoction syrup was prepared in which other medicines were also mixed to prevent colds and coughs, ?? Dr Nesari said.
âWith the kit, Suvarnaprashan (Swarna Prashan) will be delivered to 5,000 children that day. We have already contacted Delhi schools for this,â she added.
Swarna Prashana helps improve the overall health of children, she said.
The AIIA has prepared the ‘Swasthya Raksha Kit’, ‘Arogya Raksha Kit’ and ‘Ayu Raksha Kit’, which are very popular among the people.
