CES 2022 will showcase innovations 2022 and beyond that will dictate the future of human technological advancements
CES is back for 2022, and I look forward to seeing the latest and greatest technological innovations on display among the thousands of brands and innovators participating after a year of great turmoil, but also impressive work – in particularly in the field of health technologies. This sector in particular has seen some brilliant and forward thinking ideas fueled by the pandemic, a sentiment that I am sure will continue to inspire others for generations.
In addition to the impeccable developments in healthcare technology, there have been great advancements in the world of home technology and smart solutions. Since COP26, the world is more aware than ever of the number of CO2 emissions that our homes emit. The need and desire to change this for the better is becoming more and more evident. We see new and innovative ways to efficiently manage household energy to fight climate change.
So what should we be careful about? Year after year, CES has a lot of new tech to get excited about, but here are a few things that I will personally be looking for:
Internet of Things (IoT)
More and more home appliances and appliances are becoming “smart”. Everything from speakers to refrigerators, and that’s just the start. With Matter now becoming the new ‘standard’ for IoT devices to talk and communicate with each other, there is no doubt that IoT will be the future of home automation as more businesses embrace the new Matter standard. .
Electric vehicles are quickly becoming an essential part of our daily lives as we move towards a more sustainable future. During COP26, major automakers pledged to create more hybrid and electric vehicles with the goal of meeting our common goals of net zero by 2050. With that comes not only a more sustainable future, but a need for EV chargers. While driving electric vehicles is an optimal solution for the health of our planet, we need to make sure that we charge our cars efficiently, manage the energy load at the most optimal time and when we can, remove energy from the grid. and use renewable sources where possible. For my part, I’m excited to see what solutions are in store for the everyday consumer, so that we can all have a greener future.
What has become more evident this year is that we need to take care of ourselves as much as we need to take care of the planet. We’ve come a long way since the start of 2021, with giant strides in the world of healthcare innovations. The development of a vaccine against Covid-19 will go down in history and we must not stop now.
Clever and sustainable homes
And finally, I’ll be on the lookout for the latest and greatest technology that brings together smart, sustainable technologies in the home to enable us as homeowners to make better energy decisions. With sustainability being the number one talking point for businesses around the world (finally), better conversations are taking place about how industry peers, governments and customers can all work together to create net zero homes of. inside.
Earlier this year, we announced that our Wiser Energy Center, initially unveiled at CES in 2020, will be the first device to meet the new Matter standard in 2022, something we intend to roll out across the board. of our portfolio of connected home technologies. This gives the everyday homeowner the power to be unrestrained when developing a connected, more sustainable home. Technology from a wide range of brands will be able to communicate in a new language, work together and help the user manage household energy emissions.
Beyond CES until 2022, we have a duty to think about a circular economy, using the best and most innovative materials at our disposal, and helping others achieve their goals as well.
What we can see is that the tech world is growing as fast as we are. Incredible innovations meet the demands of our daily life, in terms of health, sustainability and home automation. At Schneider Electric, we think about how we can truly transform the lives of our customers by revolutionizing their daily lives, inside and outside their homes, and creating ways to clean up and save our planet. .
In the interest of the safety and well-being of our employees, their families, and the community, Schneider Electric will not be physically attending CES 2022 in Las Vegas due to growing concerns over the Omicron variant.
